BALTIMORE -- Davon Usher scored 21 points as top-seeded Delaware pulled away in the second half for an 87-74 victory over fifth-seeded Northeastern in a Colonial Athletic Association semifinal on Sunday.
Delaware (24-9) advanced to the CAA championship on Monday, its first trip to a conference final since 2001 when playing in the America East.
Northeastern (11-21) rallied from an early 10-0 deficit to take a 42-39 lead right after halftime. But Delaware heated up and made 19 of 25 from the field in the second half, including runs of 7 and 11 consecutive shots made.
Delaware shot 59 percent for the game and five players scored in double figures -- Jarvis Threatt (19), Devon Saddler (16), Carl Baptiste (14) and Kyle Anderson (10) in addition to Usher. Threatt also had 11 rebounds, five assists and four steals.
