D'Orazio, Rush move one step closer to divisional title
DENVER -- In a game surrounded by postseason implications, Matt D'Orazio threw five touchdowns and rushed for another to help the playoff-bound Chicago Rush beat the Colorado Crush 66-57 on Monday.
D'Orazio and the Rush are now one step closer to clinching the Central Division title.
The win not only keeps Chicago (11-4) in sole possession of first place in the division, but it also sets the stage for a battle with second place Kansas City (10-5) on Saturday in Chicago. A win over the Brigade hands the Rush the division crown and a first-round bye in the playoffs.
D'Orazio went 23-of-32 for 232 yards. Rush receiver Bobby Sippio added 10 catches for 114 yards and three touchdowns.
The Crush, meanwhile, have lost three straight.
Colorado's John Dutton was 26-of-43 for 246 yards and six touchdowns but it wasn't enough to keep the Crush from their worst losing streak since 2005. Chicago completed a season sweep of Colorado and stayed on top of the Central Division, one game ahead of Kansas City.
Crush receiver Damian Harrell scored four times on 10 catches and totaled 93 receiving yards.
