Phil Mickelson on the final round of The Open at Troon: "I have no regrets, other than not going over to Henrik Stenson's bag and bending his putter." And yes, he was smiling when he said that.

There was no Open hangover for Phil Mickelson but he admitted that his close call at Royal Troon will "over time be more disappointing," given how well he played in finishing second to Henrik Stenson. Mickelson said he didn't want to let it linger and hurt his chances at this week's PGA.

Count Jordan Spieth among those who likes Baltusrol, site of this week's PGA Championship: "I consider it one of the top American golf courses there is."

Rory McIlroy on his driving distance: "I feel like, for my size, I hit it a long way. So that's nice, I guess." Um, yeah. I guess.

Bubba Watson spent his short break between major championships. . . opening a candy store. That's right, Watson opened Bubba's Sweet Spot in his home town of Pensacola, Fla. on Friday. The concept has been brewing for years and became serious in the last six months. "Who doesn't like candy and fudge and ice cream,'' Watson said. "I'm spending the most money in there.''

Rory McIlroy leads with a long drive of 345 yards. In 1963, Jack Nicklaus won this same competition -- with a drive just four yards shorter.

Ty Wenger ESPN Editor

For those wondering how Long John Daly did today at the PGA Championship long drive competition? He poked it 303 yards out there. Not bad for a 50-year-old. Then again, the man did average 314 yards off the tee back in 2003--which would still lead the tour this season. So there's that.
