• Summary: Jon Leicester and three Baltimore relievers combined to lead the Orioles shutout of the Angels on Thursday night.
• Turning point: Baltimore went up 3-0 in the sixth on Scott Moore's sacrifice fly that scored Aubrey Huff, who reached on a one-out single and moved to third on a single by Jay Payton. • Hero: Leicester became the Orioles' first starter to not give up a run since Erik Bedard held the Yankees scoreless on Aug. 15, a span of 25 games. • Outside the lines: Orioles manager Dave Trembley missed the game as he began serving a three-game suspension. The league handed down the suspension for an animated tirade following Trembley's ejection Wednesday night. • Figure this: Los Angeles had its six-game road winning streak snapped and was shut out for the seventh time this season. -- ESPN.com news services |
