DETROIT (AP) -- Dane Sardinha felt like a goat after grounding into a rally-killing double play. That made it all the better when his first major league hit made him a hero.
Fast Facts
• Detroit goes over .500 for the first time all season at 41-40. The Tigers extended their win streak to five straight and since going a season-high 12 games under .500 on June 6, they are 17-4.
• Not counting the Rangers in the 1994 strike season (who went 24-23 in the first 57 games of a 114-game season), the only team in MLB history to go over .500 for the first time at the exact halfway point of a season was the 1991 Yankees.
• Dane Sardinha, who was hitless in his first 12 career at-bats -- which spans five seasons -- erased a one-run deficit with a two-run triple in the sixth.
• Kenny Rogers allowed three runs in six innings for his first home win since May 21.

The two teams were also tied for the wild card playoff spot at the end of the 2007 regular-season and played a one-game playoff, won by Colorado. ...
