MILWAUKEE -- Given the wild fluctuations of the Milwaukee Brewers' season, it's only natural that the final push for their first playoff appearance since 1982 would come down to game No. 162.
Fast Facts
• Brewers fall back into a tie for the wild-card lead with the Mets as their five-game win streak was snapped. The Cubs won their 97th game this season, the most since they won 98 in 1945.
• Ted Lilly won his fourth straight start, taking a no-hitter into the seventh inning.
• Ben Sheets, pitching for first time since Sept. 17, lasted only 2 1/3 innings in the loss. Prince Fielder, meanwhile, extended his hitting streak to 17 games.
• The Brewers got to within a run with the bases loaded and one out in the eighth. But J.J. Hardy (now 2-15 with the bases loaded this season) and Corey Hart (now 5-29 career with bases loaded) failed again.
