Volstad tosses five-hit complete game, helps Marlins shut out Giants
SAN FRANCISCO -- Chris Volstad knew he had it from the first pitch that left his hand.

• Chris Volstad pitched his first career shutout and won for second time in his last eight starts. At 22, he's the youngest Marlins pitcher to throw a shutout since Anibal Sanchez (age 22) no-hit the Diamondbacks in 2006.
• Ryan Sadowski lost and had his scoreless streak ended at 16 innings (the longest streak for a Giants pitcher to begin a career since 1953 when Al Worthington began his career with 19 scoreless innings.).
• Dan Uggla snapped an 11-game homerless drought with a home run and three RBIs, his first three-RBI game since June 2.
