Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Anaheim, California
W: E. Santana (8-8)
L: T. Hunter (9-5)
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The Angels soaked the jersey in beer, champagne and tears, holding Nick Adenhart's No. 34 high in the middle of the celebration he missed.
Los Angeles is headed back to the playoffs for the sixth time in eight years, and the Angels intend to go with the memory of their late teammate alongside them. The 22-year-old pitcher's death in an April car accident roiled their season early on, but it couldn't sink this resilient team.Sign Of Things To Come?
Mike Scioscia led the Angels to a World Series title as a wild-card team in 2002. But Sciosia and L.A. have never fared well in the playoffs as a division winner. Here's how the Angels have finished after winning the West title under Scioscia:
| Postseason Result | |
| 2009 | ? |
| 2008 | Lost ALDS |
| 2007 | Lost ALDS |
| 2005 | Lost ALCS |
| 2004 | Lost ALDS |

Morales started two 3-6-3 double plays by fielding a grounder and throwing quickly to second base. The Cuban's improved fielding despite limited time at first base in his baseball career before this season has been among his most impressive achievements to Scioscia. ... Young had never missed more than two straight games with an injury before his recent hamstring woes.
