Research Notes
Teixeira homered on a high slider from Jesse Crain to put the Yankees in front for good on Wednesday. Teixeira's other hit was a key double that started the Yankees' rally in the 6th. The double came on a changeup down in the zone. Teixeira struggled this year on pitches both high and low, so Wednesday was definitely a step in the right direction for the Yankees' first baseman. Only five of Teixeira's 33 HR in the regular season were on pitches up in the zone, and he hit a combined .226 on low and high pitches, well below his .270 mark from 2009.
