Young hit a three-run homer one pitch after keeping his at-bat alive with a disputed check-swing, helping C.J. Wilson and the AL West champions beat the Tampa Bay Rays 6-0 Thursday for a 2-0 lead in their division series.More From ESPN.com

MLB - Rangers Rolling
After playing the Yankees in each of their first 3 postseasons, perhaps it's just a change of scenery that the Rangers needed. After going 1-9 in 10 previous playoff games, the Rangers are 2-0 this postseason. Part of the problem was the Rangers' .175 batting average on the road in those 10 games.

Game notes
The Rays removed Baldelli from the roster and added Aybar, who was the designated hitter Thursday. The team said Baldelli, who was 0 for 3 with two strikeouts in Game 1, had left leg fatigue, a symptom of mitochondrial disorder, a condition he has that was diagnosed in 2008.

Research Notes
The Rangers pitching has really been the story behind their 2-0 start to the ALDS. In 6 regular season meetings with the Rays they were 2-4 with an ERA over 6. In the postseason Rangers pitchers have an ERA of 0.50, holding the Rays to a .125 batting average. [+]Don't Mess With Texas - Rangers Pitching vs Rays This Season

With Joe Maddon and Ron Gardenhire being ejected today.
It's the first time that managers have been thrown out of SEPARATE postseason games in the same day.
That sort of thing is only possible since 1969, since that's the first time there could have been 2 postseason games in the same day.
This is the 5th time in postseason history that there have been consecutive days that featured teams being held to 2 hits or fewer (happened yesterday with Halladay no-hitter, today with Rays getting two hits.
The other years in which this has happened: 1906 (3 straight in the World Series), 1931, 1974, and 1999.
Matt Treanor is the 16th player to be hit by a pitch twice in a postseason game (no one has been hit 3 times). But he is just the 4th catcher to do it. The others were Russell Martin in the 2008 NLCS Game 3, Todd Pratt in the 2000 World Series Game 1 and Yogi Berra in the 1953 Game 3.
