Research Notes
Ryan Braun: 7 extra-base hits in 22 AB this postseason.
Last player with at least 7 extra-base hits in first 22 at-bats of a single postseason - Billy Hatcher in 1990 (7 XBH). |
Zack Greinke: 1st pitcher in postseason history to win a game in which he pitched at least 6 innings, and his ERA for the game was at least 9.00 (Greinke allowed 6 ER in 6 IP, 9.00 ERA) |
The six runs scored in B5 on Sunday ties a Brewers postseason record (B7 of the 1982 WS, Game 4, also against the Cardinals). The six hits in that same inning broke the previous Brewers postseason mark by one. |
Ryan Braun: 4 RBI
That's a Brewers single-game postseason record, surpassing the mark he previously shared with Ted Simmons (1981 ALDS Game 3) and Mark Brouhard (1982 ALCS Game 4). Braun previously had 3 in game 2 of the LDS against the Phillies. |
Prince Fielder: 3rd career postseason HR
That ties Ted Simmons and Paul Molitor for the most in Brewers history. |
Ryan Braun: .364, 9 HR in first inning during regular season
He was 3rd in the NL in first-inning HR during the regular season, trailing Matt Kemp and Albert Pujols, who each had 11.
Jaime Garcia: 1st HR allowed in the 1st inning this season.
In fact, it's the first HR he allowed in the first inning since his first career MLB start, when he gave up a home run to Scott Hairston on July 20, 2008.
This is his 63rd career start, combining regular season and postseason. |
