Blue Jays rally to drop Yankees in 11th inning, end 7-game losing streak
NEW YORK -- On a night when it was downright dangerous to be a Toronto pitcher, Colby Rasmus and the banged-up Blue Jays pulled off a stunning comeback.
Rasmus hit a three-run homer off Rafael Soriano with two outs in the ninth inning and Toronto took advantage of Derek Lowe's wild pickoff throw in the 11th to beat the New York Yankees 8-7 Monday, snapping a seven-game losing streak."Real pleased with the way guys competed all the way through," Blue Jays manager John Farrell said. "We didn't roll over and we kept coming at them. ... These are those games, in the 11th inning on the road you win it. Sometimes if they go the other way they can almost feel like two losses."More From ESPN New York
Mark Teixeira's calf strain is the latest injury to the Yankees during manager Joe Girardi's rock-solid regular season, Johnette Howard writes. Story
