T.J. Rivera, Travis Taijeron and Gabriel Ynoa will represent Las Vegas and the Mets organization in the Triple-A All-Star Game. Wally Backman will manage the Pacific Coast League team.

No Bryce Harper in the lineup tonight. Wilson Ramos moves up to cleanup, though.

The Dodgers acquire Bud Norris from Braves, according to multiple reports, with Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal first. Norris is in line to start Friday in place of Clayton Kershaw after firing seven scoreless innings Sunday against the Mets. He is 3-7 with a 4.22 ERA this season.

Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN

Bud Norris carries a 4.22 ERA as he joins the Dodgers' rotation. 28 walks, 60 strikeouts in 70 1/3 innings.

Another angle on Marlins' closer choice: since the beginning of 2014, A.J. Ramos has 39 games of 4-plus outs, Fernando Rodney 7. Ramos provides greater flexibility in setup innings.

Tristan H. Cockcroft ESPN Senior Writer

I haven't forgotten that, during the preseason, the Marlins seemed to be trying anything to keep A.J. Ramos in a setup role rather than closing. (Remember Carter Capps?) If that trade happens, I'd bet Rodney still closes.

Eric Karabell ESPN Senior Writer

RHP Ryan Buchter likely next in line for Padres saves if/when Fernando Rodney dealt. Good Ks. Add now.

Coastal Carolina's off-field battle

Jaymie Thomas, the wife of Coastal Carolina's pitching coach, is grateful for the school's support during her cancer fight. The Chanticleers are playing Arizona for the College World Series title on ESPNU.

Heard the Padres and Marlins are nearing a deal for Fernando Rodney for a good A-ball prospect

Make that a 13-game hit streak for Dodgers rookie Corey Seager. All-Star voting ends tonight. Sadly, the kid is not leading the voting at SS.

"It was a great read and I thought he was safe." - Arizona coach Jay Johnson on play at home plate

Mets make it official, promoting Seth Lugo and demoting Sean Gilmartin. Lugo will wear No. 67. Because he has been a starting pitcher, he can give the Mets' length if required.
