According to a team-issued press release, the incident was "non-physical" in nature. Sale has been the subject of rampant trade speculation the past few days after GM Rick Hahn admitted he would be open-minded in listening to trade offers for club's ace.

Chris Sale scratched from tonight's start

The White Sox released a statement saying the scratch is "due to a clubhouse incident before the game. The incident, which was non-physical in nature, currently is under further investigation by the club."
