Wilmer Flores will not be active on Friday night for the Mets. He remains on a rehab assignment with the Binghamton Mets and will be in the lineup for a fourth straight game on Friday with the Double-A club. Flores had been eligible to be activated for the series opener against the Dodgers. He was hitless Wednesday and Thursday with the B-Mets. Flores is on the DL with a left hamstring strain. He nonetheless should be activated shortly.

If all goes well, he will throw a side session on Sunday, after which the Tigers will make a determination on whether to place him on the DL or not. In related news, Matt Boyd was held out of his start yesterday in Triple-A Toledo as Tigers mull options ...

I've seen some people in Boston saying John Farrell messed up Jackie Bradley Jr.'s hitting streak by moving him to leadoff for a night. That's ludicrous. Bradley crushed two fly balls that were caught at the fence. He also came very close to getting a fifth at-bat in the 9th precisely because he was batting leadoff. Jon Gray and some bad luck ended Bradley's streak; not John Farrell.
