From Jay Paris on-site in San Diego for Yankees outfielder Carlos Beltran will be idle this weekend in San Diego. "He's improving," manager Joe Girardi said. "He's just not where he needs to be.'' Beltran's sore right hamstring had him out Friday against the San Diego Padres. He could be down the next two games, too. "I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play,'' Girardi said. Beltran walked as a pinch-hitter in Thursday's win over the Rangers. He didn't play Wednesday, one day after getting hurt. "As I've said the last few days this was what worried me that he would have to play the field,'' Girardi said. "If he was DHing, it might be a little bit quicker. But we have to make sure he is OK.''

Reds' rally ends with Suarez getting thrown out at third for the final out, left-handed hitter at the plate. Not good.

In Toronto, Darwin Barney joins this distinguished group of recent position-player losing pitchers: Leury Garcia, Casper Wells, Darnell McDonald, Joe Mather. Good group!

What a win for the Indians, beating the Blue Jays in 19 innings to set a franchise record with their 14th win in a row. Trevor Bauer, tomorrow's scheduled starter, got the win with five scoreless innings in relief as the Indians' pitching continues to dominate. Team of destiny? 1948 was a long time ago.

Indians win 2-1, in 19 innings; that's 14 straight. Great work by Trevor Bauer and the Indians' other pitchers.

UPDATE: Carlos Santana leads off the top of the 19th with a solo home run. Indians lead Blue Jays, 2-1.

18 innings and 18 pitchers later, the Indians and Blue Jays are tied, 1-1. Darwin Barney is pitching for TOR in the 19th.

Let's play three! Mike Napoli makes a nice play with a runner in scoring position to end the 18th. Blue Jays infielder Ryan Goins is out after one inning with Darwin Barney coming in. Hard to believe the Jays didn't use a starter, like the Indians have done with Trevor Bauer.

With the #Marlins no facial hair Policy it's going to be interesting to see if newly acquired Fernando Rodney shaved his beard.

Jason Day officially opens 67-69. Will own the lead going into the weekend. Cavs, Indians, Jason Day. Ohio never loses anymore.
