Five different Cubs pitchers retired the final 25 Dodgers in their 2-0 win on Monday. The Dodgers managed a 2-out bloop followed by a walk in the first inning and that's all the base runners they would see. Travis Wood was the hero throwing 4 perfect innings coming in cold off the bench.

Who's the hottest player in the Mets organization right now? It's Triple-A Las Vegas infielder T.J. Rivera, who extended his hitting streak to 17 games Monday. Rivera went 2-for-3 with a walk on Monday, in a 9-3 loss to Memphis. He is hitting .453 (34-for-75) with two homers and 21 RBIs during that span.

Tigers' Andrew Romine will be playing SS tonight, a nice opportunity for him to play at his hometown stadium. His father Kevin, who played for the Boston Red Sox, will be on hand for tonight's game against the Angels. Romine got to spend last night in his own bed, see his family, wife, dogs, etc. Was a nice reprieve from the road: "It's home. It's really home."

Tigers pitcher Jordan Zimmermann is on track to make his return from a groin injury on Friday against the Chicago White Sox, according to manager Brad Ausmus. Zimmermann did fielding and agility drills today and is slated to throw another bullpen session tomorrow.

Ben Zobrist tied his career high with a hit in his 16th consecutive game while earlier reaching base with a walk making it 35 straight starts he's gotten on. He scored the first run of the game as the Cubs lead the Dodgers 1-0 in the 5th.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi compared Luis Severino to Roy Haladay. Severino, 22, was sent to Triple-A on Monday after beginning the year at 0-6 with a 7.46 ERA. "This is not unusual," Girardi said. "This is not abnormal. I'll bring up a name right here we saw -- Roy Halladay. He got sent back down because he struggled. He figured it out and was pretty darn good. This is not unusual. This is part of the process young players."
