The Cubs' top prospect got on base for the first time in his major league career today as he was walked on a 3-2 pitch from the Padres' Tyson Ross in the first inning.

Schoop to DL with knee injury

Today, Baltimore revealed that Orioles 2B Jonathan Schoop has a knee injury (partially torn PCL, sprained MCL) that will land him on the 15-day DL. They're reinstating IF Jimmy Paredes from the DL.

Nats' Yunel Escobar to undergo MRI

The 3B tried to beat out a ground ball in Friday night's win over the Phillies, but he pulled up hobbling after feeling pain in his groin. He will undergo an MRI today and said he'll need a day or two off.


Ian Desmond continues to struggle

The Nationals SS made another error today in the third inning against the Phillies when he couldn't get the ball cleanly out of his glove to turn two. That's now eight errors in 12 games for Desmond.

The Royals IF has a sprained knee after Oakland's Brett Lawrie slid into second late with a high cleat Friday. Said Lawrie: "I wish him all the best and there was zero intention of ever wanting to hurt him. Even the thought of that would never cross my mind."

After homering for the second straight game, Giancarlo Stanton called out his team for a lack of intensity. "The fire is not there, it seems like. You always want to have it. But when you're out there and it's game time, it's just nothing there."

According to Elias, the Yankees DH/1B became the eighth player 39 or older to hit at least four home runs in his team's first 10 games, and he's now hit four homers in the first 10 games three times in his career.

Rangers' Moreland has elbow injury

Trout joins 100-100 club

Mike Trout hit his 100th and 101st career home runs on Friday, making him the youngest player in MLB history with 100 home runs and 100 stolen bases. Trout is 56 days younger than Alex Rodriguez was when he reached the 100-100 club.
