SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Carmelo Anthony scored 20 points to
help the Denver Nuggets edge the Sacramento Kings 102-99 in an
exhibition game Tuesday night.
Rookie Francisco Garcia made a 3-pointer from the corner,
pulling the Kings to 100-99 with 34.1 seconds remaining.
Anthony followed with a long jumper with 13.1 left as the
Nuggets held on for the victory.
Voshon Lenard added 16 points for Denver, including eight in the
fourth quarter. Earl Boykins had 13 points, nine in the final
DerMarr Johnson added 11 points and both Earl Watson and Andre
Miller scored 10.
Peja Stojakovic led the Kings with 18 points and Brad Miller
added 17. Bonzi Wells scored 12 as the Kings had five players in
Denver was without injured players Kenyon Martin, Marcus Camby,
Greg Buckner and Nene.
Anthony and Watson scored 10 first-half points for the Nuggets,
who led 52-46 at the break.
