With a dunk and a tip-in in the first 1:22 of the game, Chandler, now in his sixth season, surpassed 3,000 points for his career. ... Announced attendance was 18,535, a New Orleans Arena record for a Hornets regular-season game. The old mark was 18,509 in January 2003, the Hornets' first season in New Orleans. ... When Chandler hit 20 points and 20 rebounds in the fourth quarter, it was the first time a Hornets player had hit that mark in both categories in a home game since Anthony Mason did it in 1996, when the team was based in Charlotte.
