PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Those "Fire Isiah!" chants followed Isiah Thomas from New York.
So did 48 minutes of wretched basketball.Even the excuses -- this time Thomas blaming the looming trade deadline as a distraction -- came with the Knicks' latest humiliation."We've had our good moments and we've had our share of bad moments," Thomas said.Few as bad as this game.New York, New Yuck
The Knicks may have been embarrassed by the 76ers on Wednesday night but it wasn't due to poor shooting. In fact, their field-goal percentage (45.9) was the fourth-highest mark by a team beaten by 40 or more points in NBA history. Here are the others (losing team italicized):
| Opponent | Lost by | FG pct. |
| Nov. 22, 1983 Nuggets vs. Trail Blazers | 40 | 53.3 |
| Nov. 1, 1991 Mavericks vs. Spurs | 41 | 50.6 |
| Nov. 4, 1988 Hornets vs. Cavs | 40 | 46.5 |
| Feb. 20, 2008 Knicks vs. 76ers | 40 | 45.9 |
The Sixers almost set a Wachovia Center record for their biggest margin of victory -- they beat the Bucks by 43 points last month ... They also scored a season high in points. ... The Sixers hadn't scored at least 124 points in regulation since a 134-107 win over Detroit on April 12, 1994.
