It appears Nets PG Jeremy Lin has applied for a trademark on the phrase "Brook-Lin" for apparel purposes, according to records. A fan applied for and then transferred the trademark to Lin after he signed with Brooklyn, according to fan site NetsDaily.

Langston Galloway, a Baton Rouge, Louisiana native, said on a conference call with local media today that his family was thrilled when they learned he'd be playing closer to home. "They're definitely excited," he said. "When I first got a chance to tell my mom and dad and my wife's family, they all just started crying because it's a great opportunity to see me play as a professional back home. [There's] definitely excitement back home for me."
