It doesn't come as a complete surprise that Dwane Casey tweaked his starting lineup just before the start of Game 1 tonight against the Heat, essentially to better match up with Luol Deng at power forward. The Raptors mixed and matched in their first-round series, too. Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan and Jonas Valenciunas were the only Raptors to start all seven games against Indiana.

NBPA wants to meet with Heat over Bosh

The National Basketball Players Association has requested a meeting with Miami to try and resolve the situation with Chris Bosh, a source told ESPN's Brian Windhorst. Bosh hasn't played since prior to the All-Star break but wants to get back on the court for the Heat. The team recently restated its position that there are no plans for the forward to play. Story

Raptors rookie Norman Powell has guarded Paul George in Round 1 and will now get Dwyane Wade in Round 2. A huge assignment. Some people in Raptors organization likened Powell a bit to Tony Allen as a feisty, physical defender. But Powell's huge step was the development of his outside shot.

Raptors Lowry-DeRozan-Powell-Carroll-Valanciunas five-man lineup was a plus-seven in 12 minutes during the first round. With the Heat starting Johnson and Deng up front this makes sense. It also loves Patterson back to his usual reserve role. Powell is coming off a 13-point Game 7.

Heat forward Chris Bosh greeted a few associates from his time in Toronto as he sat at his locker in before Game 1 tonight against Toronto. Bosh declined to speak with reporters in light of today's statement released by the NBA players association calling for Bosh and the Heat to resolve a dispute over his medical treatment and availability.

Rookie Norman Powell is starting for the Raptors as the team decides to go small.

Raptors coach Dwane Casey: "I'm sure people are overlooking us and looking to Cleveland and Miami, which is fine, which is good."

Raptors coach Dwane Casey quizzed Heat G Dwyane Wade on basketball and his knowledge of the game during a pre-draft interview when Casey was an assistant in Seattle. Wade was of course selected by Miami.

NBA admits 5 calls missed last night (I say 6 with a 5-second violation on the inbounds). Is it correctable, or just inevitable human error?

One stat Raptors coach Dwane Casey says he'll be looking at this series is paint points given Miami's ability to drive downhill to the rim. Turnovers were a big theme last series and will continue to be as well.

On replays can't quite see Ibaka grab Aldridge jersey in free-for-all. NBA said shooting foul! Can't blame refs for just letting 'em play.

Carmelo Anthony previously said he planned to play in the Olympics this summer. Now, it sounds as if he's uncertain: "I would like to, but there's other things that come in. There's the time commitment, the load it puts on your body, going to Brazil—there's a lot of safety things that's going on," he said in an interview with Complex.com. "I'm pretty sure sooner than later the USA people would like to know, but I didn't feel like it was a rush. This is the time I distance myself from basketball and try and get some clarity and new energy."
