Happy playoffs, folks. If the postseason lives up to the regular season, we're all in for a treat.

Saturday's tip-offs

The NBA postseason is here, with things tipping off up north:

  • Wizards at Raptors, 12:30 ET, ESPN
  • Pelicans at Warriors, 3:30 ET, ABC
  • Bucks at Bulls, 7 ET, ESPN
  • Mavericks at Rockets, 9:30 ET, ESPN

What to expect in the East

Will the Bucks' lack of playoff experience hurt them? Can LeBron James make it a perfect 10-0 in first-round series?

What to expect in the West

Whose hot streak will come to an end first in the Clippers-Spurs series? Can Portland go deep in the playoffs without Wesley Matthews?

Chandler Parsons understands the boos

The guard left Houston to join the Mavs last offseason, and the former Magic season-ticket holder said he can relate to the boos: "That's just how the world works. ... I booed Shaq when he came back. I booed T-Mac when he came back." The Mavs plays the Rockets in Game 1 tonight at 9:30 p.m. on ESPN. (via ESPN Dallas)

David Lee to miss today's Game 1

The Warriors F, who had been listed as questionable, has a strained lower back that also kept him out of the regular-season finale. James Michael McAdoo and Brandon Rush will be active for the playoff opener against the Pelicans.

Does net efficiency = title?

Over the last 30 years, having the best net efficiency in the regular season has resulted in an NBA title. Can the Warriors maintain that streak?

Rockets not bothered by Cuban comment

Despite Mavs owner Mark Cuban saying, "James Harden, I think, is the MVP because that's not a very good team over there," in a Grantland interview, the Rockets aren't concerned. Said Trevor Ariza: "We feel we're capable of being a championship-contending team and that's all that matters."

NBA playoffs begin today

One of the highlights on the slate? The 67-win Warriors hosting the Pelicans and the NBA playoff debut of Anthony Davis. The Warriors are the 10th team in NBA history to win at least 67 games in a season. Seven of the previous 9 went on to win the title.
