Russillo @ryenarussillo

Just blasting Toto at midnight as you get ready for a redeye doesn't work. They should only let hammered people sit there.

Steve Nash's guide to the galaxy

We gave Steve Nash a pen and a mission: Illustrate the theories that drove his unique MVP career. It began with this sketch. Here's the result

Sketch by Steve Nash

Mavs overcome Westbrook, Thunder

Russell Westbrook's 10th triple-double of the season wasn't enough for the Thunder as they fell in a shootout 135-131. Oklahoma City holds a 1.5-game lead for the final playoff spot in the West.

Davis leads Pelicans past Lakers

Anthony Davis scored a game-high 20 points in the Pelicans' 113-92 win over the Lakers, moving New Orleans within 1.5 games of the Thunder for eighth place in the West.

Final: Pelicans 113, Lakers 92

Six New Orleans players were in double figures, led by Anthony Davis' 20-point, 7-rebound, 6-assist effort. The Lakers have sole possession of the 4th-worst record in the league, while the Pelicans move to just 1.5 games behind the Thunder for the 8th seed. Box score

Final: Clippers 126, Trail Blazers 122

The Clippers were down by as many as 19 points in the game, but Los Angeles engineered an incredible comeback behind Chris Paul's 41-point, 5-rebound, 17-assist and 1-turnover performance. The Clippers remain 1.5 games behind the 2-seed. Box score

Kevin Pelton @kpelton

The Clippers must be practicing rebounding DeAndre Jordan's missed free throws. They've successfully tipped out the last 2.

Kevin Pelton @kpelton

Tonight's Clippers game feels a lot like last night's except they've reversed roles to the road team coming from behind.

Arash Markazi @ArashMarkazi

Don't look now but it's Blazers 98, Clippers 97 with 7:06 left in the game. It looked like the Clippers were ready to wave white flag early.

Norman Chad @NormanChad

Every time Hedo Turkoglu hits a three-pointer, I expect him to light up a cigarette afterward.

Blazers trying to push back Clippers

Two things went poorly for Portland in the third quarter: it was the first quarter they did not score 30+ points and it was the first quarter they lost. Also, Chris Kaman shoved Chris Paul in the back resulting in a flagrant foul. The Blazers lead by 7 heading into the final frame. Follow live

J.A. Adande @jadande

The only damage done in that Kaman-shove-CP3-barking-Aldridge-shoving-Big-Baby sequence was a courtside fan spilled beer on guy next to him

Kevin Pelton @kpelton

Flagrant one on Chris Kaman is the only penalty they announced. Can't believe there weren't any technicals handed out.
