Mudiay gives Nuggets building block

Talented guard Emmanuel Mudiay not only allows Denver to trade Ty Lawson but gives them a playmaker to build around. Second-rounder Nikola Radicevic is also a nice draft-and-stash, meaning the Nuggets earned a thumbs-up from Amin Elhassan. Draft thumbs-up or thumbs-down

Nuggets capitalize on Mudiay's slip

Looking for a point guard to make Ty Lawson expendable, the Nuggets came away with a steal when Emmanuel Mudiay fell to No. 7. The combination of value and need hit with that pick earns the Nuggets one of Chad Ford's best grades. Ford's complete draft grades (Insider)

Mudiay means farewell to Lawson?

ESPN's Jeff Goodman: "Denver drafting Mudiay likely means that the Ty Lawson era is over with the Nuggets. ... One potential destination: Sacramento. Remember, he played for George Karl."

On the clock: Denver Nuggets

It's been 12 years since the Nuggets have selected this high in the draft, and it's been boom or bust. Since 2000, Denver's only two picks in the top 10 were:

  • Carmelo Anthony (No. 3)
  • Nikoloz Tskitishvili (No. 5)

If Nuggets stay put, Winslow a good bet

Chad Ford has had the Nuggets linked to Justise Winslow throughout the draft process, and that doesn't change in his final mock draft. Still, Denver's fluidity with Ty Lawson and Kenneth Faried in trade talks could lead to the team moving the pick. Ford's final mock (Insider)

Nuggets' C Jokic has sky-high potential

The Nuggets' top overseas prospect, 6-foot-11 center Nikola Jokic, currently projects as an average NBA player. But considering he's just 20 years old, Jokic may have the highest upside of any international prospect in the NBA. Our first peek at Jokic stateside may be this summer.
