Orlando lands No. 11 draft pick

The Magic were awarded the No. 11 overall pick for the June NBA draft during Tuesday night's lottery, their most likely landing spot. They went into the lottery with a 0.8 percent chance of picking first and a 4 percent chance of landing in the top three.

The Magic have a 0.8 percent chance of landing the first draft pick in Tuesday night's NBA lottery and are most likely to choose 11th.

  • If they draft first, Chad Ford thinks they should take LSU's Ben Simmons.
  • They have a 4 percent chance of getting a top-3 pick.
  • If they go at No. 11, their selection should be Kentucky's Skal Labissiere, according to Ford.

Magic to reach out to Vogel

The Orlando Magic intend to reach out to former Indiana Pacers coach Frank Vogel during their search for a new coach, general manager Rob Hennigan told the Orlando Sentinel on Friday. Vogel compiled a 250-181 record during his Indiana tenure. He became available when the team decided to let his contract expire after this season.
