GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Lamont Middleton scored 24 points, 12 in each half, to lead North Carolina A&T to a 90-79 victory over UNC Greensboro Wednesday night in nonconference play.
The Aggies (3-5), who led 42-30 at halftime, also got double-figure scoring from Jeremy Underwood, who came off the bench to score 22 points. He made two early 3-point attempts and went 12 for 14 at the free throw line.
Teammate Bruce Beckford added 14 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the floor.
The Aggies took their 12-point halftime lead after closing the first half on a 16-5 run. But Kayel Locke kept UNC Greensboro (1-5) in it after the break. He led the Spartans with 22 points, including 14 of 16 from the foul line, but it wasn't enough.
Ted Kapita was the top-rated recruit from West Virginia in the class of 2015 and recently played at DME Academy in Florida.
With the Suns drafting Tyler Ulis, they now have five guards on their roster who attended Kentucky.
