CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- James White and Cincinnati cruised in a
friendly "road" environment.
White scored 12 of his 14 points in the first half as the Bearcats (No. 12 ESPN/USA Today, No. 14 AP) remained unbeaten with an 83-63 rout of
Miami (Ohio) at the U.S. Bank Arena.
Cincinnati (8-0) matched its best start since the 1999-2000
season by beating its oldest rival. The Bearcats and RedHawks
have met 140 times and Cincinnati has won the last six matchups.
This was considered a "home game" for Miami, although it was
played downtown, just a short bus ride from Cincinnati's campus.
The Bearcats improved to 109-50 at the building formerly known
as the Riverfront Coliseum, which served as their home from
White, who made his debut a week ago, turned in his best effort
by coming off the bench to torch Miami early and often. Field
Williams also scored 14 points as Cincinnati placed four players
in double figures.
Miami (4-5) has not beaten Cincinnati since the 1990-91 season.
