RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Steven Rush scored 18 points to lead five North Carolina A&T players in double figures Thursday as the Aggies defeated Norfolk State 81-66 in the quarterfinals of the Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference tournament.
The lead changed 13 times before the Aggies broke away in the second, outscoring the Spartans 42-29 in the half. North Carolina A&T, which shot 44.6 percent for the game, scored 36 points off the bench compared to 17 points by sixth-seeded Norfolk State.
Tony Murphy scored a game-high 20 points for Norfolk State, which shot 42.1 percent for the game and hit only 27.8 percent of its 3-point attempts. Calvin Brown finished with 13 points and Michael Deloache had 12.
North Carolina A&T will play No. 2 seed Florida A&M in a semifinal game Friday.
