STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- Geary Claxton had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Penn State pulled away in the second half to defeat Princeton 61-38 on Wednesday night.
Jamelle Cornley scored 10 points for the Nittany Lions (5-4).
Zach Finley had 14 points and
Lincoln Gunn had 13 for Princeton (2-7), which lost its seventh game in a row.
Penn State led 26-11 after a sluggish first half for both teams. The Tigers made only five of 25 field goal attempts and were 1-for-14 on 3-point attempts in their 11-point half, the lowest first-half scoring against the Nittany Lions since Juniata could only muster that amount in 1989.
In the second half, the Nittany Lions built up a 49-31 lead with 7:16 remaining and then went on a 10-0 run over the next four minutes to put the game out of reach.
