DELAND, Fla. (AP) -- Garfield Blair scored 21 points to lead Stetson to a 66-54 win over Kennesaw State on Thursday night.
The Hatters (7-10, 3-1 Atlantic Sun Conference) also got 12 points from A.J. Smith, 10 points from Kris Thomas and a career-high 11 rebounds from Tim Lang.Ronell Wooten paced Kennesaw State (3-14, 1-3) with 21 points, most of which came on 14-of-17 free-throw shooting.The Hatters got off to a slow start, trailing 9-2 in the first 3:33. But Stetson put together a 21-2 run to take a 23-11 advantage with 3:20 left in the first half. Stetson led 26-14 at the half.The Hatters led by as many as 25 points, 45-20, with 13:13 left to play before the Owls rallied to within nine points with 51 seconds remaining. Keonte Keith's three-point play made it 61-52 before Stetson stopped the rally.
