Harris' career-high 30 points carry Michigan past Michigan Tech

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan's Manny Harris scored a career-high 30 points and the Wolverines easily beat Michigan Tech 77-55 in a first-round game of 2K Sports College Hoops Classic supporting Coaches vs. Cancer tournament Tuesday night.

Michigan (1-0) will face Northeastern in Wednesday's regional final, while Michigan Tech (0-1) will face IUPUI in the consolation game.

The Wolverines dominated the Division II Huskies from the opening tip. With two minutes left in the first half, Harris had scored 18 points, just four fewer than the entire Michigan Tech team. Michigan led 42-24 at the intermission and cruised to the easy win.

Georgio Holt led Michigan Tech with 12 points.

Michigan was coming off a 81-55 exhibition win over Saginaw Valley State, which plays in the same conference as Michigan Tech. The Huskies have made the 550-mile trip from Houghton to Ann Arbor three times for exhibition games, but Tuesday was their first regular-season meeting.
