CONWAY, S.C. -- Josh Johnson scored 17 points as Presbyterian rallied from an eight-point second-half deficit to beat Coastal Carolina 56-53 in overtime Wednesday night in the conference opener for both teams.
Trailing 47-39 with 6:20 left, the Blue Hose (3-4, 1-0 Big South Conference) tied the score at 49 on Johnson's fifth 3-pointer of the game. Presbyterian blocked a Joseph Harris shot to force overtime.
Presbyterian jumped out to a 53-49 lead in overtime. The Chanticleers (1-6, 0-1) cut the lead to two at 2:05, but couldn't overtake the Blue Hose.
