Abrams scores 31, including final six for Texas, as Longhorns hold off Bruins
AUSTIN, Texas -- A.J. Abrams' shooting touch and some rock-solid team defense keep getting it done for Texas.Abrams matched his career high with 31 points, including the last six of the game for the Longhorns, sending No. 8 Texas to a rugged 68-64 victory over UCLA (No. 9 ESPN/USA Today, No. 12 AP) on Thursday night.
• Texas earned its 14th straight home victory.
• A.J. Abrams finished with 31 points, tying a career high. He was 5-for-9 on 3-pointers, giving him 308 for his career and putting him 24 behind Clarence Gilbert for second-most 3s in Big 12 history.
• Darren Collison scored a season-high 22 points to lead UCLA, just the fifth time the Bruins have lost when Collison scored at least 12 points (48-5).
• This was the first time all season UCLA allowed at least 60 points.
