Sims scores career-high 28 as Michigan limits Duke's outside effectiveness
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan's basketball program has been hibernating for a decade.It looks like the Wolverines are finally waking up.DeShawn Sims scored a career-high 28 points to lead Michigan to an 81-73 victory over Duke on Saturday, its second win over a No. 4-ranked team in two weeks.
• Michigan defeated the No. 4 team in the country for the second time this season. The Wolverines also beat UCLA when it was ranked fourth.
• The loss is just Duke's third in 48 games in the month of December since 1999-2000. The loss also snaps Duke's six-game win streak vs. Big Ten opponents.
• Michigan improved to 6-2; Last season, the Wolverines did not win their sixth game until Feb. 9.
• Duke was 7-for-33 on 3-pointers, its third straight loss in which it has shot worse than 25 percent on 3-pointers.
