NEW YORK -- Stephen Curry kept missing. His teammates kept telling him to shoot.Not a bad idea.Curry, the nation's leading scorer and one of the most popular college basketball players of this generation, fought off a terrible shooting start and took over the final 5 minutes to lead Davidson (No. 22 ESPN/USA Today, No. 23 AP) to a 68-65 victory over West Virginia on Tuesday night in the Jimmy V Classic.
• Davidson is off to its first 7-1 start since the 1969-70 season.
• Stephen Curry scored 27 points for the Wildcats and has now posted 25-plus points in 11 of his last 12 games.
• This was just the second loss for West Virginia in its last 29 December games.
