PITTSBURGH -- Two games, two UConn losses, two big performances by Pitt's Sam Young. By now, Connecticut could be excused for not wanting to see the Panthers again, yet the Huskies can't wait for the next matchup. Or maybe the next two.
• With its two wins against No. 1 UConn, Pitt became just the third team to beat a top-ranked team twice in the same season in the ESPN/USA Today poll era. Louisville defeated Florida and Kentucky in '03-04 while North Carolina topped Duke twice in '97-98.
• The Panthers defeated the Huskies twice in one season for the first time since 2002-03.
• Pitt has now won 10 of 11 overall and 21 straight home games. Meanwhile, UConn suffered its first road loss of the season (13-1).
