THOMAS, Virgin Islands -- Purdue coach Matt Painter said he thought the team with the ball last would win the game.Technically, he was right: Kelsey Barlow of the sixth-ranked Boilermakers chased down Wayne Chism's miss from the top of the key with 2 seconds left to secure a 73-72 victory over Tennessee (No. 11 ESPN/USA Today, No. 9 AP) on Monday night in the title game of the Paradise Jam.
• E'Twaun Moore led the Boilermakers with 22 points and in doing so surpassed 1,000 points for his career as Purdue opened the season 4-0.
• Robbie Hummel also contributed 20 points in the win.
• For the Vols, Wayne Chism set a season high with 24 points but missed the potential game-winner with time running out.
