• The Mountain West Conference is 8-22 all-time in the NCAA tournament.
• Luke Nevill got in early foul trouble for the Utes and scored 12 points in 27 minutes. Nic Wise led the Cats with 29 points. Jordan Hill had 17 points and 13 boards and Chase Budinger had 20 points and eight boards.
• Utah was 8-for-32 from 3-point range. Arizona dominated inside outscoring the Utes 51-31 in the paint.
