AMES, Iowa -- Texas reached No. 1 for the first time in school history without having to lean too heavily on highly touted freshman Avery Bradley.Bradley seems ready to play a much larger role for the loaded Longhorns -- as he did in their first win as a top-ranked team on Wednesday night.
• The Longhorns stayed unbeaten as they won their first Big 12 road game of the season. They scored 90 points for the third straight game and are 16-0 for the first time since the 1932-33 season.
• Damion James had his third straight 20-point game, finishing with 23 points and 14 rebounds.
• Avery Bradley went 10-for-14 from the field, finishing with 29 points. In the last two games, Bradley is 22-for-28 from the field with 53 points and 15 rebounds.
• The loss was the 13th straight for Iowa State against a ranked Big 12 foe.
