Taylor scores 18 of 20 in final minutes to spur Badgers past Nittany Lions
MADISON, Wis. -- With Penn State poised to finally win one in the Big Ten, Jordan Taylor emerged to bail out Wisconsin (No. 19 ESPN/USA Today, No. 18 AP) and add to the Nittany Lions' misery.Taylor scored the last eight points of regulation to tie the game, then went on to score 10 more in overtime as the Badgers beat the Nittany Lions 79-71 on Sunday."He hadn't hit all game," Penn State's Talor Battle said of Taylor. "I mean, he was airballing. But credit him for having the toughness to step up and hit some big shots down the stretch."
• Wisconsin scored the first seven points of overtime to pull away and complete the comeback win.
• Penn State led by as many as 16 points in the second half (52-36) before a 15-0 Wisconsin run.
• Bo Ryan reached 100 Big Ten victories (100-40), tying Branch McCracken as the second-fastest in league history to reach 100 (Bob Knight, 131 games).
• Talor Battle scored 28 points, his third straight 20-point game and ninth of the season, but Penn State is 3-6 in those games.
