COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Soon after the school honored its 1960 national championship team, the Ohio State Buckeyes (No. 24 ESPN/USA Today, No. 20 AP) showed they could play a little, too.
William Buford scored a career-high 26 points and Evan Turner and Jon Diebler each had 19 to lead the Buckeyes past Minnesota 85-63 Sunday for their fifth win in six games."We weren't blind. I'm sure everyone could feel the presence of them," Turner said of the 50th-anniversary team, which was watching from a suite. "It was a big day. It was huge."Fast Facts
• Ohio State improved to 13-0 at home with an easy 22-point victory over Minnesota. That's the Buckeyes' largest victory over the Gophers since 1999, when OSU won by 29 (89-60).
• Evan Turner finished with 19 points, and Ohio State improved to 6-2 since Turner returned from his back injury.
• Minnesota has lost nine of 10 conference road games and seven of eight overall against ranked opponents.
