GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Norris Cole scored 26 points and led Cleveland State past Wisconsin-Green Bay 83-75 Thursday in the conference opener.
The Vikings (9-0, 1-0 Horizon League) were 71.4 percent in 3-point shooting, while Wisconsin-Green Bay (3-4, 0-1) shot 38.5 percent.
Cole finished with five assists, four rebounds, and made 15 of 16 from the free-throw line. Trevon Harmon scored 19 points, pulled down five rebounds and made 4 of 5 3-pointers.
Jeremy Montgomery added 15 points, three rebounds and two assists.
Wisconsin-Green Bay stayed close to the basket, scoring 28 points in the paint compared to the Vikings' 16 points.
Bryquis Perine scored 22 points for the Phoenix and pulled down three rebounds. Perine was 8 of 12 from the field.
Alec Brown added 15 points and five rebounds.
Maryland point guard Melo Trimble, considered a lock to leave the program before struggling in the second half last season, has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return for his junior season.
