WASHINGTON -- Jordan Sugars scored 20 points in his first game back from a hand injury to lead Navy to a 64-57 victory over George Washington in the BB&T Classic on Sunday.

O.J. Avworo added 10 points for the Midshipmen (4-6) in their third win in four games and their first win at the event, a triple-header featuring mostly area teams, since 2005.

David Pellom scored a career-high tying 11 points and Bryan Bynes also scored 11 points for the Colonials (2-5), who have lost four straight after beginning the season 2-1.

Navy shot 44 percent from 3-point range (11 for 25) while holding George Washington to 13.6 percent from beyond the arc (3 for 22).

Sugars hit four of his eight 3-point attempts, including two during a second-half stretch where Navy outscored the Colonials 16-5 to lead 59-45.

It was the Colonials first loss against the Midshipmen since Valentine's Day of 1980.
