CLEVELAND -- Shelvin Mack scored 11 points, dished out seven assists and had six rebounds to help Butler snap a three-game losing streak to beat Cleveland State 73-61 on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (15-9, 7-5 Horizon League) ended Cleveland State's six game-winning streak. Matt Howard led Butler with 14 points, Andrew Smith had 13 and Khyle Marshall added 12.

Ronald Nored made a free throw with 3:37 left in the second half to give the Bulldogs a 66-56 lead. A fastbreak layup and free throw by Cleveland State's Norris Cole cut the margin to seven with 3:03 left, but the Vikings (21-4, 10-3) would come no closer.

Butler scored seven straight points and held Cleveland State scoreless until 36 seconds to play. Mack scored four points during the Bulldogs' spurt.

Jeremy Montgomery led the Vikings with 18 points. Cole scored 15 points and had four assists, while Tim Kamczyc added 12 points.
