CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- North Carolina hadn't struggled to score like this in quite a while. Boston College had an even tougher time on a final shot that would have delivered a memorable upset.
The 19th-ranked Tar Heels overcame their lowest-scoring game under Roy Williams and held off a late rally to beat the Eagles 48-46 on Saturday.Fast Facts
• The 48 points scored by North Carolina are the fewest points scored by the Tar Heels in a game in the history of the Dean Smith Center. It is also the first time UNC scored fewer than 50 points in a win since February 1997.
• Tyler Zeller (16 points, 9 rebounds) led three Tar Heels in double figures.
• UNC has now won 20 games in seven consecutive seasons under Roy Williams.
• Boston College has lost six of its past eight against North Carolina and five of its past seven overall.
