Kyle Singler ends scoring slump to lead No. 1 Duke past No. 24 Temple
DURHAM, N.C. -- Things are getting back to normal at Duke: The Blue Devils are ranked No. 1 again, and points came in bunches for Kyle Singler.
Singler broke out of a slump by scoring 28 points, and Duke marked its return to the top spot in the national rankings by beating No. 24 Temple 78-61 on Wednesday night."He was just not to be denied," Temple coach Fran Dunphy said of Singler.Fast Facts
• Playing in its first game since retaking the No. 1 ranking, Duke earned its 35th straight win at home.
• The win also gave the Blue Devils their 86th straight home win against a nonconference opponent.
• Kyle Singler led Duke with a game-high 28 points, his first 20-point game in six games and the most points he has scored in a game since Nov. 27.
• For Temple, the loss snapped a season-best eight-game win streak.
