PULLMAN, Wash. -- DeAngelo Casto scored 24 points and Klay Thompson added 22 to lead Washington State to an 85-77 victory against USC on Thursday night.

Faisal Aden scored 20 points for the Cougars (19-10, 9-8 Pac-10).

Nikola Vucevic led USC (17-13, 9-8) with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Maurice Jones added 16 points and Donte Smith 14.

In the final 4:45, Washington State had one shot from the floor: a layup by Aden, after he stole the ball from Vucevic. The basket put the Cougars up 77-70 with 1:41 remaining.

The rest was done at the line, where Washington State went 10 of 14 in the final 4:45, and 8 of 8 in the final 3:03.

The Cougars lost guard Reggie Moore to a sprained ankle seven minutes into the game. He will be re-evaluated on Friday.

    Research Notes

Klay Thompson is just 1 of 3 players in Division I this season to average at least 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists per game this season. He joins UConn's Kemba Walker and Cleveland State's Norris Cole.

Klay Thompson's citation and potential suspension that could occur for WSU's regular-season finale vs UCLA, could be a death knell to the Cougs' chances to reach the NCAA Tournament. After last night's win, WSU crept back into Joe Lunardi's "first 4 out". Losing the Pac-10's leading scorer for any amount of time could spell disaster in Pullman.
