TULSA, Okla. -- One year ago, Kansas' players covered their heads in towels, drooping in the locker room after an upset loss that seemed unfathomable.
Now, they're jumping for joy.One Year Later, Kansas Moves On

By beating Illinois on Sunday, Kansas was finally able to bury the ghosts of last season's loss to ninth-seeded Northern Iowa, writes Pat Forde. Blog
Kansas' Cakewalk to Final Four
Left alone in the Southwest regional with the 10, 11 and 12 seeds, Kansas will not have to face a team seeded better than No. 9 if it reaches the Final Four.
The last time a No. 1 seed reached the Final Four with its lowest-seeded opponent along the way being a 9-seed came in 2001. Here was Michigan State's path to the Final Four that year:
• Round of 64: No. 16 Alabama State
• Round of 32: No. 9 Fresno State
• Sweet 16: No. 12 Gonzaga
• Elite 8: No. 11 Temple
The result of the easier path? Michigan State lost its Final Four game against 2-seed Arizona by 19 points.
